Since the beginning of the pandemic in February 2020, at least 15% of Cardinal electors have gotten COVID-19. The College of Cardinals is made up of 219 Cardinals, 122 of which are Cardinal electors, meaning they are under 80-years-old and have the right to vote and elect a new Pope during conclaves. Of these at least 18 have gotten the disease since the beginning of the sanitary crisis.
